JNPO: MMA year in review – 92 days of UFC scandals & title changes
Josh & Paul Fontaine talk Dana White, Islam Makhachev, Israel Adesanya and more.
The final entry into the JNPO MMA year in review series has arrived.
Per usual, Figure Four Online writer & Fight Game Media podcaster Paul Fontaine joins me as we recap the final three months of 2022 for nearly two hours.
The seeds and early blossoms of UFC betting scandal began involving coach and former fighter James Krause. We talk about the fight where everything started, how things caught fire shortly after, and how Dana White’s reaction changed drastically in just two days.
We talk about White being caught exchanging slaps with his wife on New Year’s Eve and how that could severely affect the launch of his Power Slap league which has already been delayed by a week.
And, of course, there were some fights.
We look at Islam Makhachev’s rise to the top of the lightweight division at he took home his first UFC title, Alex Pereira resuming his rivalry with Israel Adesanya and taking both his middleweight title and middleweight win streak, an awesome MSG show, and lots more.
