DragonKingKarl Classic Wrestling Show: Giant-sized edition

This is a giant-sized edition of the DragonKingKarl Classic Wrestling Show.

Today, you get two shows packed into one. First, if you have been following the longform history of pro wrestling series then you know that the foundations of the National Wrestling Alliance were laid at least ten years earlier. We saw it finally come together last episode with the first-ever meeting and foundation of the NWA, along with the crowning of their first true World Heavyweight Champion, Orville Brown.

But what happened next? What happened was Lou Thesz, the National Wrestling Association World Champion, a tragic car accident, and an alliance flexing their muscle.

Then, host Karl Stern has included a complimentary edition of his website’s DragonKingKarl Old Time Wrestling Hour podcast where he hits the mailbag to talk about Daniel Bryan and his place in pro wrestling history.  Karl also looks at one of those famous 1980s marathon WWF TV tapings, this one from Las Vegas, Nevada featuring the infamous Missy’s Manor talk show segments, the Can-Am Connection, Demolition, Hulk Hogan, and more!
