It’s Wrestling Observer Radio with Dave Meltzer, Fumi Saito, and Jim Valley. Dave and Jim start the show, with Fumi joining us after a few minutes.
We run down of all of the matches from night two of Wrestle Kingdom 14. We go In depth on Naito and Okada, Naito holding both major titles, and KENTA’s attack at the end. We also talk about Chris Jericho and Tanahashi. Why the Tana submission was the best finish, Jericho’s comments about how “the forbidden door” doesn’t have to be closed, wanting AEW and NJPW to work together, and why his match with Tanahashi was his favorite Wrestle Kingdom match.
With attendance over 70,000 for both nights, we discuss the pluses and minuses of the two-night experiment. We also speculate on the reasons why there was no announcement for Wrestle Kingdom 15 or international tour dates for New Japan Pro Wrestling.
