One of the most popular pop culture monsters of the 1970s was the Loch Ness Monster, a supposed displaced dinosaur or sea creature in a deep Scottish lake. Nessy even made it into a song by The Police and the movie Napoleon Dynamite.
While the “monster” might seem like a plausible thing that could exist, it turned out to be the most likely of the famous 1970s monsters not to be real.
On this episode of Dragon King Dark, I look at a 2012 documentary on how the Loch Ness Monster turned out to be nothing more than a plot to get revenge on a newspaper.
