Coming off of Wrestlemania, the blue brand had a lot of momentum considering they crowned a new Smackdown Women’s Champion in Bianca Belair and that the Tribal Chief Roman Reigns retained the Universal Championship by defeating both Edge and Daniel Bryan. Ahead of the show WWE also announced that Pat McAfee would be joining the Smackdown commentary booth alongside Michael Cole.
